Shawn C. Ward
Dr. Ward is an advanced Podiatric Surgeon who has practiced in the Lima area since 1999. Prior to settling in Lima he did his residency training at the Dayton VA medical Center, Wright Patterson Air force base, and VA outpatient clinic in Columbus. Dr. Ward has had solid training in all surgical and non-surgical podiatric medical problems. He has also had advanced training in Wound Care Medicine and Limb Salvage Surgery, Reconstructive Surgery, Trauma , and Ilizarov external fixation techniques. This allows Dr. Ward to treat a wide array of deformities and trauma of the Foot and Ankle.
Dr. Ward has had opportunity and experience in deformity correction and trauma that has been used in Medical Missions. He has worked as a consultant for, “Children’s Medical Mission”, correcting simple and complex cases brought to Lima from around the world. Some of the corrective procedures performed have been; equinus, severe contractures, and club foot correction. He has used and trained other providers domestically and internationally in the Non-surgical Ponseti casting technique for club foot correction. He has also had the opportunity to travel to other countries to bring his gifts of wound care and surgical reconstructive to people in their own homeland. Mission work has been a large passion with Dr. Ward. He desires God to use him by showing Christ’s Love to physically hurting people and in turn have the opportunity to introduce spiritual healing through Christ Jesus.
Dr. Ward is currently Board Certified in Wound Care for Diabetics that has been able to lead him to be a vital part of the SRMC wound clinic where he serves as a staff physician to treat all types of wounds involving the lower extremity. He is also Board certified by American Board of Podiatric Surgery in Foot Surgery. He has served on various committees and has been in the past Chief of Podiatry surgical section for both St. Rita’s Medical Center and Lima Memorial Hospital. Currently, Dr. Ward holds privileges at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima Memorial Hospital, Triumph Hospital, and Van Wert County Hospital.

Alison R. Niemeyer
A recent graduate of the St. Rita’s Medical Center Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program in Lima, Ohio, Dr. Niemeyer is excited to begin private practice at West Central Ohio Podiatry. She began her education at the University of Detroit Mercy and completed medical school and The Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland.
While in her residency, Dr. Niemeyer has had extensive training in surgery of both the foot and ankle, including reconstructive surgery and diabetic limb salvage, with a special interest in flat foot reconstruction. Dr. Niemeyer is currently on staff at St. Rita’s Medical Center, Lima Memorial Hospital, Surgery and Endoscopy Center of West Central Ohio, and Van Wert County Hospital. She serves as an attending physician for the St. Rita’s Medical Center Foot and Ankle Surgical Residency Program
Dr. Niemeyer resides in Kalida with her husband Andy and their daughter, Camryn.
